July has more to offer; Honda, BMW, Merc line-up their new launches

Well the month of July could not get better. With two major car launches so far, the month still holds three new cars including the much awaited Honda Mobilio. July started with the introduction of Nissan Sunny facelift followed by the launch of numerous special and limited edition. Manufacturers including Maruti Suzuki, Chevrolet and Renault launched limited and special editions of their cars. Maruti brought limited edition of Ertiga and Ritz while Renault introduced second anniversary edition of Duster. Chevrolet too grabbing the football fever, brought the Manchester United Limited Edition of Beat and Sail U-VA while Hyundai introduced the LPG edition of Grand i10. And just a couple of days back, Volkswagen launched the facelift version of its premium hatch Polo.

But hold on, the month does not ends here. Car manufacturers continue the launch streak with few more hot wheels coming up this month. To bring more clarity, we are separately mentioning the upcoming launches in the month of July.

Mercedes Benz CLA 45 AMG: Launch on July 22.

Mercedes Benz’s most affordable AMG christened as CLA 45 AMG is coming on July 22, 2014. The company describes the CLA 45 AMG as India’s first “Compact Performance Sedan”. With this powerful machine, the manufacturer looks to mark the AMG brand to young India’s auto enthusiast class. The car is powered by world's most powerful 4 cylinder, 2.0-litre direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine which develops an output of 355bhp and peak torque of 450Nm. Talking about the performance, the car is capable to achieve 0-100kmph mark in mere 4.6 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. The engine is mated to a standard AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission.

Enough said on Honda Mobilio, lets see how the common man reacts to the Honda’s first product in MPV segment as it nears its launch. Mobilio will lock horns with the mighty Maruti Suzuki Ertiga which recently crossed the retailing mark of 1,50,000 units. Other competitors include Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia. The manufacturer has already commenced booking on this seven seater with an upfront payment of Rs 50,000. The MPV is offered in both the fuel trims.

The fuel efficient diesel model houses a 1.5-litre, i-DTEC engine which develops an output of 98bhp and peak torque of 200Nm. Mated to five speed manual transmission, the company claims that the MPV delivers a mileage of 24.2kmpl-highest in the segment. While for the gasoline lovers, the automaker is also offering Mobilio with 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine with an output of 117bhp and max torque of 145Nm. The engine is mated to five-speed manual gearbox. The petrol variant gives an economy of  17.3kmpl, which is again way more than its closest rivals.

BMW 7 Series Activehybrid: Launch on 23 July

While the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is feeling safe in his elegant BMW 7 Series 760Li Security Edition, the automaker is planning to bring the fuel efficient hybrid version of its 7 series, tagged as BMW 7 Series Activehybrid. The saloon will come to India enroute CBU (Completely Built Unit) and thus will be one of the costliest offerings from the BMW's stable. The car is expected to get a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine, that develops a power of 320 bhp of maximum power and 450Nm of peak torque. The engine is further coupled to an electric motor which develops power of 55 bhp and 210 Nm torque. This fuel efficient hybrid car is capable of achieving 0-100 kmph in mere 5.7 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. With such impressive figures, the car gives a mileage of 14.7kmpl.
