Honda showcased the all-new Jazz at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo and now Honda Malaysia has started taking booking of the new hatchback. Moreover, Jazz will soon start its second life in India and with a diesel heart pumping inside, it will lead Jazz on a victory run like City and Amaze. After the Mobilio MPV, Jazz will be the next in-line car for Honda India. We are expecting the car to land early next year just as the Mobilio is entering slightly earlier than expected, Jazz could also make an early entry!

Speaking of the changes, the new Jazz is thoroughly revamped inside-out and just like before it shares its underpinnings with the new City. Featuring Honda's 'EXCITING H!!!' design philosophy, the front fascia gets wing styled chrome grille and City-esque headlamps, while the rear still reminds of the previous generation model but features LED taillamps. On the inside the vehicle features City borrowed dashboard, touch screen infotainment system similar to that of City and also the touch sensitive automatic air-conditioner found in the sedan along with rear AC vents as most of the its rivals are coming-up with rear AC vents.

In Malaysia, Jazz is offered only with a City borrowed 1.5 liter i-VTEC. However in India, the new Jazz is likely to get the similar 1.2 liter i-VTEC that it used to carry earlier; the same motor is incorporated in Amaze and Brio as well. The 1.2L packs 87bhp and 109Nm of max torque. But a 1.5 liter i-VTEC equipped Jazz makes sense and now hatches in its category offers multiple engine options, like, Polo GT TSI, upcoming Punto EVO, Hyundai i20, etc. The City's 1.5 liter i-VTEC churns out 117bhp and 145Nm of torque, this engine will provide enough grunt to tackle its rivals.

The diesel motor on the other hand will be the same 1.5 liter i-DTEC under the hood of Amaze, City and now Mobilio. The engine produces a healthy 98bhp of power and 200Nm of maximum torque, will certainly make the Jazz one of the most powerful in its category. Apart from the power, Jazz will also lead in the fuel economy department as the all-aluminium Honda's 1.5 i-DTEC is India's most fuel efficient engine!
