The next significant stop in the journey of Toyota Etios sedan and Etios Liva hatchback is the budding car market of Indonesia. The Japanese auto giant, Toyota Motors is readying to introduce the Etios twins at the Indonesian International Motor Show which will be held at Jakarta from September 20th to 30th, 2012. The company had revealed the facelifted versions of Toyota Innova and Toyota Fortuner at IIMS 2011.
Previously, the Toyota Etios sedan and Etios Liva were exported to South African shores; the launch of the same is due in May this year. The company has also planned to release these cars to the Brazilian car market. Shortly after the Etios twins were launched in the Indian subcontinent, the Etios Liva was spotted undergoing test runs on Indonesian roads which triggered the speculations about its official introduction there.
At the 2012 Beijing Auto Show, Toyota displayed the Etios with a new name of Toyota Qin. Toyota India has started laying the foundation for India to emerge as an export hub by incrementing the production of Etios twins to a large extent. These cars would reach the Indonesian shores as completely knocked down (CKD) units because of which the pricing in Indonesia is expected to be pretty competitive. Some changes in the engine specifications, features and body design are expected in the Indonesian version of Toyota Etios sedan and Liva hatchback. Indonesia car market is pretty popular and various other car-makers are interested in releasing their model there. Maruti has already marked its presence there with the Alto-K10, Wagon R and A-star. Honda is also planning on releasing its newest entry-level hatchback Honda Brio in the Indonesian car market.
