Hyundai records a growth of 3.4% in March

Hyundai Motor India Ltd, that recently launched its sub-four meter compact sedan Xcent, has seen a growth in domestic sales by 3.4%. The manufacturer managed to sell a total of 35,003 units in March 2014, while last year the company sold a total of 33,885 units.

However, in terms of exports the company failed even to repeat last year's number, let alone the growth. Company's hottest selling product Grand i10 along with recently introduced Xcent looked promising in terms of giving manufacturer a fresh start in the new financial year.

Commenting on the March sales Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP- Sales and Marketing, HMIL said, “Post the reduction of excise duty and with the strong performance in compact segment; Hyundai registered March sales of 35,003 units with a growth of 3.4% over corresponding month indicating a build-up of positive momentum.”
