Hyundai Creta has been spied without any camouflage ahead of its global debut, which is nearly a month from now, on 21st July. After its Indian debut, Creta will embark on its global launch journey. The compact SUV will compete majorly with it monocoque rivals - Renault Duster/Nissan Terrano, Ford EcoSport (top trims) and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Cross  along with the body-on-frame peers - Mahindra Scorpio & 2015 Tata Safari Storme.

Speaking of the design, Creta gets subtle changes compared to the ix25 which Hyundai sells exclusively in China. To start with, there is chrome garnish over the licence plate and alloys are not diamond cut compared to its Chinese sibling. Apart from these, every bit seems to be similar to that of the ix25. The design of the car is highly inspired from the elder sibling Santa Fe.

In terms of engines, Creta is most likely to borrow engines from the Verna and it is expected to offer 3-engine options - two diesel and one petrol. Diesel will be the 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter CRDI along with the 1.6-liter petrol. The 1.6-liter diesel will put it ahead many of its peers with 128 PS and 260 Nm of max torque. Hyundai is expected to offer 6-speed automatic transmission just like the ix25 in China while 6-speed manual is likely to be standard for the diesel while petrol will get 5-speed manual and automatic, if Hyundai offers it.
