Honda City-based Grace Hybrid launched in Japan; comes with 4WD

Honda Motor Co has launched all-new Grace Hybrid, based on our Honda City, sedan in Japan. The Honda Grace Hybrid looks just like the City but gets some new features like Honda’s SPORT HYBRID i-DCD one-motor hybrid system and for the first time in a compact hybrid sedan in 5-number size category a 4WD version. The Grace Hybrid returns an outstanding fuel economy of 34.4 km/l, thanks to the hybrid system that enables the driver to start in EV mode.

Honda Grace Hybrid is powered by 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine mated to a 7-speed DCT with built-in high-output motor and the IPU with a built-in lithium-ion battery. Other features include platinum plated front grille, 4-lamp LED headlights, rear AC outlets, three accessory sockets and a 8-speaker system. The car also comes with a rotating front passenger seat with an easy lever operation.

Safety features for the Grace Hybrid include Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) system, Hill-Start Assist, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) system and City-Brake Active system. Other features include the Advanced Compatibility Engineering body that applies Honda’s original G-Force Control Technology (G-CON) to enhance self-protection and make it less aggressive to other vehicles in the event of a collision, the Pedestrian Injury Mitigation Body structure to absorb the impact of a collision in the front part of the body.
