Ford has started testing the next-gen Ford Figo in India, the very first spy shots are rolling in from Pune, Maharashtra. The 2015 Figo is a completely new vehicle and shares nothing with the on-going car, except the Blue Oval! Company's global small car, produced by Ford Brazil, is set to roll out from the Ford India’s upcoming facility in Sanand, Gujarat, early next year.

Coming All-way from Brazil!

The vehicle recently went on to sale in Brazil (there it’s known as KA) in September and already over 30,000 units have been sold in nearly 2 months. Apart from the next-gen hatch, company also debuted its first compact sedan (concept showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo) in the country. Both the vehicles, new Figo and its twin-compact sedan are expected to share their features and powertrains.

A Feature Loaded 2015 Ford Figo!

  • Like the EcoSport and Fiesta, 2015 Figo will be getting the SYNC infotainment system with a 3.5-inch display screen. The voice guided SYNC offers, Bluetooth phone integration.
  • The AppLink smartphone integration will also debut in the Figo; with the help of SYNC, AppLink lets you use your smartphone apps through voice commands.
  • Ford’s Emergency Assistance will also be offered, the system calls the emergency services (108) in case of any casualty (if airbags deployed).
  • Electronic power steering is on offer along with rear power windows!

New Engines On Offer!

Mechanically, the new car is most likely to borrow its powertrains from the ones offered in the Brazilian market. The current 1.2-liter 4-cylinder petrol will be replaced by a powerful and efficient newly developed 1.0-liter TiVCT 3-cylinder naturally aspirated motor. The power figures of petrol lies in between 80-85 bhp along with a peak torque of 105 Nm.

Fiesta’s 1.5-liter TDCI powering the 2015 Ford Figo?

Speaking of the diesel, 1.4-liter TDCI from the current car is also expected to change like its petrol counterpart. The Fiesta’s\EcoSport’s  1.5-liter diesel is expected to drive the upcoming Figo-duo’s in the country. The engine in Fiesta produces 89 bhp and 204 Nm of torque.
