Corvette, the longest running sports car brand from USA, just became more powerful and zippy as its Z06’s curb weight is brought down to 1451kg and as a result, lowering the power-to-weight ratio to 6.33:1. Corvette’s Marketing Manager, Halan Charles talking about the lighter Corvette said that Horsepower is not the only measure of performance and the Balance and low weight also hold equal importance.
Corvette has always been known for using best materials for their structure, engines and chassis that help in improving the car’s performance. As Executive Chief Engineer, Corvette, Tadge Juechter said, Corvette has never focused on using exclusive material whether it is aluminum, carbon fiber or even fiberglass. Corvette has a history of constantly experimenting and launching newer models that weigh lighter than the previous ones.
2013 Z06 becomes the lightest sports car in America with this lowered curb weight.
