The Cruze is ready to cruise. General Motors has just teased the next gen Chevy Cruze which will also make its way to Indian showrooms in year or so. The automaker has announced that the new Cruze will be unveiled on June 24, 2015. The American carmaker teases the interior with the new infotainment system-MyLink, multifunction steering wheel and engine start/stop function.

The infotainment system in the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The touchscreen system is placed at the centre console and allows phone to integrate with smart apps.

2016 Chevy Cruze was first showcased at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show and is inspired from the Chevrolet Tru 140S concept--a sporty coupe that first appeared at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

Under the hood, the all new Cruze will get new Ecotec engine and will replace three different existing GM engine which are globally available. The engine will be mated to six-speed manual, six-speed automatic, and a new seven-speed dual-clutch unit. According to the Chevrolet, the updated powertrains will deliver fuel economy improvements of 14 to 21 percent.

“For most of us, our smartphones are essential,” said Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors. “Partnering with Apple and Google to offer CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility across the widest range of models in the industry is a great example of how Chevrolet continues to democratize technology that’s important to our customers.”
