BMW India to Hike Prices From January 1st, 2015

BMW India to hike prices from January 1st, 2015. Recently, we reported that General Motors has announced that it will increase the prices of its entire model lineup up to Rs 20,000 from January 2015 and following the same footprints, BMW India has also announced to hike the prices by up to five per cent across the BMW and Mini line-up. The increase in prices will be effective from January 1, 2015.

We want to maintain sustainable leadership in the Indian market with a strong brand and an exceptional model range with unbeatable product substance. With the price increase, BMW Group will maintain its premium positioning in the Indian luxury car segment.”

Furthermore, in order to expand its performance segment, the automaker has launched the M3 sedan and M4 coupe along with updating the M5 sedan. All the three vehicles will be available in dealerships across the country as Completely Built Units (CBU). The M5 sedan is price at Rs 1.35 Crore while the M3 sedan and M4 coupe are priced at Rs 1.19 Crore & 1.21 Crore respectively. All the prices are ex-showroom.

The updated BMW M5 is powered by 4.4-litre M Twin Power Turbo V8 petrol engine, that churns a max power of 560bhp along with 680Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters, which ensures the acceleration 0-100 kmph in mere 4.3 seconds.

While the M3 sedan and M4 coupe come equipped with new 3.0 litre, twin-turbocharged, six-cylinder petrol engine which musters a power of 431bhp @ 5500-7300 rpm and peak torque of 550Nm @ 1850-5500 rpm. Both the cars are capable to achieve an acceleration of 0-100 kmph in 4.1 seconds.
