Audi drives into East India with the opening of its first dealership in Kolkata

Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer announced the inauguration of its new state-of-the-art showroom in Kolkata on the 10th of July, 2010. The dealership was inaugurated by Mr. Michael Perschke, Head - Audi India and Mr. Sandip Bajaj, Managing Director - Audi Kolkata (Mohan Motor Distributors Private Limited).

“I am delighted to announce the opening of our first ever dealership in Kolkata. A city with a luxurious heritage, Kolkata is an important centre for Audi India. The new showroom based on the Terminal architecture concept unique to Audi, truly reflects our key brand values of sportiness and progressiveness, and is in line with our
focus on expanding our national footprint to 18 locations by the end of 2011. Our philosophy of  “Vorsprung durch Technik” is not just about advanced technology and innovative products, but also about exceptional service. Audi Kolkata mirrors this ideology and will ensure that our customers in the region experience unmatched levels of luxury,” said Michael Perschke, Head - Audi India.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sandip Bajaj, Managing Director - Audi Kolkata said, “It’s a matter of great pride for us to be appointed as an Audi dealer and we hope the opening of this dealership marks the beginning of a longstanding association with Audi. At Audi Kolkata, we will ensure that our customers are provided with the true Audi experience with world-class products and premium services.”

Spread over an area of 6,500 sq. ft, the architecture is based on the unique Audi Terminal concept with a typical black curve inside the showroom and the honeycomb aluminium facade on the exterior. With a display that can accommodate eight Audi cars, the showroom will display the entire model range of cars available in India. In
addition, the showroom will also house an Audi Shop and the Audi Exclusive Elements, where customers can order customised products and purchase a variety of Audi branded merchandise. The service facility, located at Arupota, off EM bypass, near Science City, is spread over an area of 13000 sq ft and has a full fledged state-of-the-art body shop as per Audi standards and a total of 10 bays for service and body shop work.

The Audi model range in India includes Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi TT and the super sports car Audi R8. The entire Audi model range is available across the country: in Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chennai and Ludhiana. Further developments include Mumbai South, Lucknow, Coimbatore, Surat and Indore.
