Following the teaser video in the first week of this month, Audi has now revealed new teaser sketches of its imminent concept car for the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Additionally, the company has finally picked the 'Prologue' name for its new concept, rather than the A9 Concept reported earlier.

The concept previews a new styling language for the German marque, crafted by their design chief Marc Lichte, who came on-board late last year. Initially the concept was thought to be in the form of a grand four-door coupe, but after the unveiling of these latest teaser sketches, suggests that it may have just two doors. Its been quite long that Audi has been considering a new flagship model which will be placed above the A8, the alleged A9. The soon-to-be-unvelied Prologue concept, is rumored to be the preview of this flagship, a potential Mercedes-Benz S-Class and in-pipeline BMW 9-series competitor.

According to Liche, the Prologue concept is inspired from company's three key vehicles- the Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO race car from 1989 as well as the original A8 and the TT. He also mentioned that this new design language focuses on sportiness and emotion. Plus there will also be a more technical look to reflect the advanced engineering that underpins Audi’s vehicles, especially when it comes to quattro all-wheel-drive technology.

This new look of the latest design language will be first applied to the next-generation Audi A8, which is expected to arrive in 2016. The platform underpinning the new A8 is a stretched version of the flexible MLB Evo, which stretches almost 17 feet in length.
