Tata Motors sold 69,427 units of its vehicles in February

Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in February 2010 were 69,427 vehicles, a growth of 58% over 43,811 vehicles sold in February 2009. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for February 2010 were 66,190 nos., a 56 % growth over 42,493 nos. sold in February last year. Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal at 567,535 nos., recorded a growth of 28 % over 444,095 nos. sold last year.

The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in February 2010 in the domestic market were 39,205 nos., the highest ever and a 67% growth compared to 23,454 vehicles sold in February last year. LCV sales were 21,764 nos., the highest ever and a growth of 49% over February last year. M&HCV sales stood at 17,441 nos., a growth of 98% over February last year. Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 330,330 nos., a growth of 40% over last year. Cumulative LCV sales are 196,040 nos., a growth of 46% over last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 134,290 nos., a growth of 33% over last year.

Tata Motors registered a 77 percent sales growth

One of India's largest car manufacturer Tata Motors has registered a sales growth of 77 percent in its January 2010 sales compare to same period of last year. Company sold 65,478 vehicles in January 2010 compare to 36,931 vehicles in the same period last year, as per a company statement. In domestic market company sold 62,202 units of its vehicles compare to 35,704 units sold in same period last year which accounts for a growth of 74 percent.

Tata Motors pavilion at Auto Expo

Tata Motors pavilion at Auto Expo was set up in the Hall no 11 which was shared by its group company Jaguar and Land Rover. Fiat pavilion was also grouped to Tata Motors and Jaguar. The reception of the company was coloured in white while the receptionist were in green saari and blue blouse, it's was something Indian look which Tata seemed to convey. However, the company did not place female models with its car models. On the other hand, Jaguar and Land Rover cars were sparking with foreign beauties. There was a big shortage of Tata cars leaflets as every visitor wanted to have that. The visitors could touch and feel the comfort of Tata cars at Tata Motors pavilion but a few car companies allowed the same till last day of Auto Expo. It was very difficult to meet any Tata Motors senior officials but juniors. The company set up a launching pad for Tata Aria only. Other new launches were done at the same place where they were displayed. Totally 37 vehicles from Tata and Jaguar, Land Rover were displayed at the Auto Expo. Tata Motors and Tata Sons Chairman, Ratan N Tata unveiled all the new vehicles at the pavilion.

Bad roads were not mentioned in the letter: Tata Motors

Tata Motors, one of the leading auto maker in the country, has denied that it did mention anything about bad road condition in a letter that was written to the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) on December 15. As per media reports, the auto company had requested the DTC to monitor the city roads where low-floor Tata buses run in Delhi. And also said that the bad roads had caused damage to the buses. But on the very next day, December 16, Tata Motors sent another letter to clarify its stance on the statement and clearly denied that it had written anything about bad roads. According to sources in DTC, the company wrote the second letter after government asked Tata Motors to name the stretches where their buses were purportedly being damaged.

Tata Motors registered 62 percent increase in sales

Tata Motors, one of India's largest four wheeler manufacturer has registered a 62 percent increase in its total global sales in the month of November. M&M and Tata Motors eyeying Fiat's plant

Tata Motors and M&M, the major players in the vibrant Italian auto market have shown interest in taking over the Termini Imerese plant owned by Italy’s largest car maker Fiat and are believed to have launched separate negotiations with Fiat. By 2011 Fiat will be relocating the Termini Imerese plant, preferably to cost-effective areas of Poland or Germany. The plant makes the Lancia Ypsilon (a three-door hatchback) and has a daily production capacity of 400 cars, and employs 3,500 people. Whereas, remaining 3,000 are engaged in vendor and related activities. Senior officials accompanying Italy’s Minister of Economic Development Claudio Scajola said, "Indian investors, including Tata Motors and M&M, are welcome in Italy."

First JLR showroom to be opened tomorrow

UK effect: Tata Motors to loss Rs 300cr

The deal of acquiring UK's Jaguar and Land Rover has turned unfruitful to Tata Motors. The bad results are non-stoping. This also caused Tata to loss around Rs 300 crore for FY-09. Tata Motors to launch crossover  SUV in 2010

Tata to launch Nano in US in two years

Overwhelmed by the Tata Nano in India, Tata Motors is mulling to launch it in United States within two years. Its chairman Ratan Tata quoted saying to a panel at the Cornell Global Forum on Sustainable Global Enterprise late Wednesday.

Tata Motors domestic sales dipped 20 per cent in the month of May. It managed to sell 15,338 units in May as compared to 19,234 units in the same period a year ago. Tata Motors' net profit dipped 50 per cent

Auto major Tata Motors hit hard by the demand contraction and unavailability of finance throughout the year and finally posted a 50.65 per cent fall in its net profit at Rs 1,001.26 crore for the FY 2008-09 compared to Rs 2,028.92 crore a year ago. The company released its FY results through a statement on Friday. The total income from operations in FY'09 also declined by 10.71 per cent to Rs 25,660.79 crore from Rs 28,739.41 crore in FY'08, it said.

Unsold Nano forms' amount to be refunded

Tata Motors would refund the amount of unsold Nano forms. Sources said the denied to pay back the amount earlier. It is to be mentioned here that in view of wide publicity and customer curiosity, the dealers bought around 2,000 to 3,000 forms priced at Rs 250 each. But it was informed that only 30-35 per cent forms could be sold. The reason behind the low booking was confusion over the procedure, unavailability of test drives and uncertainty over delivery schedules and it forced customers to stay out of the booking process.

Tata to issue bonds this month for JLR

Tata Motors,  India’s largest commercial vehicle maker, may issue bonds to raise Rs 5,000 crore to refinance the remaining $2 billion bridge loan it took to acquire Jaguar and Land Rover. Nano bookings might be cancelled: experts

Automobile industry experts feared that a good number of Nano bookings might cancel due to the production problem. It is to be recalled that Tata Motors promised to allot only 50,000 cars this year to the winners of lottery as it is the maximum capacity of its existing plant. So as a result a large number of customers have to wait for atleast for a year. The company has received 203,000 fully paid orders for the world's cheapest car Nano. Tata Motors gets Rs 15 crore from application forms

Tata Motors has got Rs 15 crore by the application forms for the world's cheapest car Nano. The company has manage to sell nearly 500,000 application forms at Rs 300 each. The sale of forms began on April 1. Booking started from April 9 and will close on April 25. So far, the company is happy with the response of the sale. Tata Motors tied up with five insurance companies National Insurance, ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company, Royal Sundaram Alliance, United India Insurance and HDFC Ergo General Insurance. SBI to begin Tata Nano booking tomorrow

State Bank of India (SBI) will begin the sale of booking forms for Tata Nano, world’s cheapest car, from tomorrow. The company already sold over 50,000 forms from its dealerships. The application from can be purchased at a cost of Rs 300 each but the online booking will cost only Rs 200. The filled up forms can be submitted with an upfront payment of around Rs.95,000 - or Rs.2,999, if they wish to get it financed, company officials said.

Tata Motors sold 10,000 Nano booking forms a day

Tata Motors is selling 10,000 Nano booking forms per day. Now the number of total forms sold is 51,000 in just five days since they became available from April 1. Industry sources said that the number excludes forms sold through 30,000 other locations such as SBI, other preferred financiers and outlets of Tata Finance, Westside, Croma and Tata Indicom. The forms are being sold for Rs 300. According to people close to the development, Tata Motors is expected to earn around Rs 30 crore from the sale of around 10 lakh forms at Rs 300 per form, through 218 dealers.

Tata’s rating down after Nano launch

Contrary to hopes, Standard & Poor’s, global ratings agency, cut the ranking of Tata Motors after the glitzy lauch of Tata Nano. S&P cleared that it did not comment on credit rating changes. S&P analyst Manuel Guerena explained that "a material deterioration" in cash flow, a difficult operating environment and high debt for cutting Tata Motors's rating to B+ from BB-. It is also suggested that the Tata Nano would contribute little to profits soon despite hopes. Customers can seek Nano loan from any bank: Bhatt

State Bank of India (SBI) Chairman O P Bhatt cleared that though most of the loan application would be done by SBI, other banks could also do the same. Bhatt added that the deal which was signed with Tata Motors as it was not possible for any company to go to hundreds of the banks to handle such a huge distribution and collection of application. Further he made it very clear that customers can seek loans from any bank to buy Tata Motors’ Nanocar despite the company singing a deal with SBI. Tata Nano to roll out in European market by 2011

According to statement given by Tata Motors chairman Ratan Tata in a press conference in Geneva Tata Motors will launch its most famous model Tata Nano in European market by the year 2011. However Mr. Tata didn't disclosed any details about the price of this model and design of this model.
