The Reva electric car company is planning to franchise its electric car business with a motive to achieve substantial growth in many markets around the world where electric cars get a strong welcome. The company strategy behind franchising is to regionalize the assembly of electric cars for which they are seeking venture partners who can access expertise and funds around the world. Sicilian financier Simone Cimino presented a plan to convert Fiat SpA’s Termini Imerese car factory for production of electric vehicles to government officials in Rome.

India based Electric car-Manufacturer Reva is looking for business partners to set up new manufacturing facilities in overseas markets like the US, Europe and Australia. While talking to reporters Company's Deputy Chairman and Chief Technology Officer Chetan Maini said, "We are looking for partners in 4-5-countries to set up manufacturing facilities and especially in the US, Australia and Europe. We are in talks with some companies, but nothing has been finalized so far."

Reva, Bangalore based Electric Car Company said it is searching for partners in the US and Europe for setting manufacturing bases. Deputy Chairman and Chief Technology Officer Chetan Maini said the company is having negotiations with some local parties but nothing has been finalised as yet.
Chetan Maini also said the company aims to increase sales to 30K units in three years from less than a 1,000 units per year currently. Chetan Maini also told that the sales will be around 50-50 from domestic market and exports. Reva, which had recently entered into an agreement with General Motors India for launching electric version of the compact car Spark, said it was also open to do partnership with other companies.
Reva Electric Car Co., which is the maker of India's sole battery-run car is setting up a second plant in the country's tech hub to bring out two new models next year for domestic and export markets.
The company displayed prototypes of the two models at the 63rd Frankfurt International Motor Show. The first model - Reva NXR is a four-seat, two-door hatchback family car. The second model Reva NXG is a sporty two-seater with a targa roof, designed by renowned automotive designer Dilip Chhabria.
As predicted, Reva Electric Car Company, based at Bangalore, showcased its new car models, Reva NXG and Reva NXR, at the Frankfurt Auto Show. These models are equipped with latest technology such as dual charge ports, intelligent digital display and keyless entry. The Reva NXG has been designed by Dilip Chhabria. Reva NXG is an M1 category, two-door, two-seater car with a targa top while Reva NXR is a M1 category three-door, four-seater hatchback family car. The company disclosed the prices of the models. Reva NXR which sports lead acid batteries will cost around Rs 7.08 lakh.

Reva launches new models NXR, NGR Reva, the only Indian electric car is ready to launch two new models NXG and NXR at the Frankfurt Auto Show next week. NXR stands for Next Revolution and NXG stands for Next Generation model.
NXG gets its design from Dilip Chhabaria’s internationally acclaimed car design studio and is a two seater with targa roof. It can attain maximum speed of 130kmph and range of 200km. It will go into production in 2011.
Reva NXR is a four-seat hatchback model quite suitable for urban family and city drive whose production will begin from 2010. The international model will run on Lithium ion battery that can attain a maximum speed of 104kmph and covers a range of 160 kms when full charge. In India, this model will come with lead acid battery that can attain maximum speed of 80kmph and cover a distance of 80 km when fully charged. You can get it booked soon after the show.
Bangalore based Reva Electric Car Co. Pvt. Ltd (RECC), India’s first manufacturer of zero-polluting electric vehicles is planning to invest Rs 30 crore in its new nature-friendly Bommasandra plant in Bangalore. Around 20 per cent, out of Rs 30 crore, would be spent towards green initiatives. The new plant will have harvest rainwater, natural light and tap solar power. Chetan Maini deputy chairman of Bangalore-based RECC, said that the plant would have the capacity to manufacture 30,000 cars a year. The company expects to reduce the energy and water bills by around 30%.
