Budget effect: Mitsubishi reduced car prices by Rs 6,000

Much awaited demand from car companies fulfilled in the new budget for 2009-10. The Finance Minister Pranab Mukerjee proposed to cut the additional excise duty on big cars, cars having engine capacities of 2,000cc, above by Rs 5,000 per unit. The car industry welcomed the change and Mitsubishi, present in India through a joint venture with Hindustan Motors Ltd, announced price cut on its cars. From July 7, Pajero, Outlander and Montero will have a price cut of Rs 6,000 in India.

Mitsubishi Outlander India's first BS-IV premium SUV

Mitsubishi Outlander, launched in October last year in India, has been awarded the first BS-IV certified premium SUV in India by ARAI (Automobile Research Association of India).  The car was conferred the the 'AAEN0339' certificate on May 30 this year. Indian Government introduces their Bharat Stage - IV (BS-IV) emission norms including stricter rules & regulations to control pollution happened due to the Auto emissions.

Mitsubishi to be increased by 4-5 per cent

  Mitsubishi Motors will increase the prices of different car models by 4-5 per cent from this month. After the increment the Outlander and the Pajero will become costlier by 1 lakh. Recently launched face lifted version of the Montero will also see a steeper hike because of higher import duty tax. The Mitsubishi Cedia will be dearer by Rs 50,000 and the Lancer will add an extra burden of Rs 40,000. The price is increased due to rising value of Yen. As a result, imported kits’ price is increasing. The company imports most of the components. Y.V.S. Vijay Kumar (Executive Vice President, Hindustan Motors) said that in the last year and a half, the Yen had appreciated 40 per cent against the rupee.

Mistubishi and Hindustan Motors to cut capex, small car plan on hold

Mitsubishi and Hindustan Motors’ ambitious small car plan is on hold now due to the lack of funds from Japan and poor demand. It forced both the companies to cut capital expenditure (capex) for the current year. The company planned to launch the premium compact car through its technical tie-up with the Birla Group-promoted Hindustan Motors in 2011-2012. The plan intended to re-engineering a compact car from Mitsubishi’s global portfolio for the Indian market or building a new car from scratch.

Mitsubishi launched Upgraded ‘Montero 09’

Mistubishi launched its upgraded version of Montero 2009 in India yesterday.The new model comes in six attractive colours like black mica, deep blue mica, Sophia white, platinum beige metallic, cool silver metallic and red metallic. It’s ex-showroom price is Rs 41.94 lakh. This premium car is imported from Japan and it is not assembled in India.
