According to the company around 8,532 Honda City models which were manufactured in India in year 2007 will be recalled due to faulty window switches. Company further cleared that the 3rd generation models of Honda City which has been sold in India will not be recalled as the 3rd generation model doesn't require replacement of parts, just a day before the announcement by the company that there will be no recall of Honda Jazz model in India as only second generation model of Honda Jazz has been sold here, which does not need any part replacement.

Chief executive Takanobu Ito said on Wednesday, "Japan's second-largest automaker was researching a new compact car for Asian markets and more specifically for India, where it launched its first small car, the Honda Jazz hatchback, earlier this year."
When asked about a recovery in these markets Takanobu Ito also said, "I wish I had the magic to predict these numbers." "In terms of business planning, we are not predicting an immediate recovery to their original levels."
Honda's Japan operations are expected to stay in red though demand has been brisk, helped by generous tax reductions and incentives on hybrids such as its new Insight model.
Honda Siel Cars India has launched a new version of Honda CR-V, a sports utility vehicle. The new Honda CR-V will be available in three variants with an powertrain capacity of 2.0-2.4 litre. The SUV is priced between Rs 21.9 lakh and Rs 24.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company has sold around 12,500 units of the SUV since it was launched in 2003. Toyota and Honda Motors, the very well known Japanese carmakers have asked the Indian government to change the existing policy of classifying a car as small that attracts lower taxes in the country.
Toyota is looking at a new second plant near Bangalore to make small car, which would rollout in the market probably in early 2011. Toyota also plans to make India its export hub for the proposed global small car project and export cars by 2012.
