Auto Expo kicks off in Hyderabad

In the first half of this year, Indian auto industry grew largely due to increase in export sales that is increased by more than 24 percent as compared to the last year. Car co experiencing growth in June too

The car companies are enjoying growth in the consecutive seventh month, June. Thanks to the new car launches and low interest rate on auto loans. Maruti Suzuki continued its strong performance by selling 61,773 vehicles in th month which is 10 per cent more than in the same period last year. It also posted a three-fold increase in exports to 13,336 vehicles , taking its June tally 75,109 units.  Robust exports helped Hyundai Motor India post 18% increase in sales in June to 47,267 carsTata Motors posted flat sales at 17,039 cars in the month compared with 17,017 units sold in June last year. Sales of the Indigo sedan declined 26% to 3,522 units in the month.

Auto sector growth rate 3% in 2008-09

Auto industry has witnessed a modest growth of three per cent in the year 2008-09. It was 13.6 per cent in 2006-07 while it fell into red (-2.3%) in 2007-08. These figures were disclosed during the presention of Economic Survey in Parliament on Thursday. Although auto industry production grew at a CAGR of 11.5 per cent over the last five years. Government has no control over car price hike! Yes, the officials said that if there is any tax-payers' money involved, the government will monitor that otherwise not. A West Bengal based automobile company is all set to launch a small car by June this year. Its Ural India which is prepared to launch the car with a Russian firm. The small car would be priced around Rs 1.6 lakh. Chinese Auto Giants want to make foray into Indian car market

 The Chinese dragon has set its eyes on the Indian car market. Two leading automakers, Chery Automobile and Great Wall Motors are planning to enter India soon through joint ventures, senior company officials revealed at Shanghai Motor Show.

Auto sales manage to be positive, rise 1 per cent YOY

The Indian Auto industry somehow managed to record positive growth in the fiscal ended March 31. Tata Motors denied payment problems after the recent non payment accusations in media. According to Tata Motors said that the payment of purchases from vendors have been paid immediately through an arrangement with banks.

Hyundai reports 13.5% downfall in sales figure in January

India's largest car exporter and second-largest car manufacturer, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, reports 13.5% downfall in sales in January in domestic sales at 21,016 units as compare to 24,301 units for the same month last year. Hyundai reports sales figure of January on Monday, including export, it sold 35,096 units in the B-Segment- Santro Xing, i10, Getz and i20, 2,057 units in C-Segment- Accent and Verna and 62 units in the D-Segment- Sonata Transform and with one unit of Tucson in SUV Segment.

Nissan-Renault looking for third partner for Chennai

The Nissan-Renault alliance has its $1.1-billion (Rs 4,500 crore) Chennai plant, which is scheduled to manufacture cars and SUV by 2010. This was a three way joint venture with Mahindra & Mahindra, Nissan and Renault as its three partners.
