The FIAT Punto update is coming in the second half of 2014; the camouflaged test-mule has been spotted numerous times in India. As, India is moving towards downsized turbocharged petrols, it is highly expected that the upcoming Italian beauty will borrow the T-Jet from the new Linea or it could debut the FIAT's renowned 2011 International Engine Of The Year - TwinAir 0.9 liter turbo charged Multi-point Injection petrol motor. Most of the upcoming cars in the premium hatchback space are likely to boost a small capacity turbo charged units, namely, the 2014 1.0 T-GDi Hyundai i20, 1.0 liter ECOnetic nex-gen Ford Figo, 1.2 liter Revotron Tata Bolt, etc. Diesel in the new Punto will be the same 1.3 liter Multi-Jet that is pulling the current one, the engine is a gem and it powers most of the entry level cars in our country. The facelifted Punto is already on sale in abroad and it features both the below mentioned engines.

Speaking of the changes, unlike the new Linea,  the updated Punto features radical changes inside out. The new vehicle features revised bumpers, head and tail lamps. The tail light are incorporated with LED, looks premium and provides brilliant luminance. The dash is entirely changed and is similar to the one in the recently launched Linea; it might feature segment first ambiance lighting. If Punto arrives with these engines, it would definitely help the car to tackle the upcoming rivals with more authority.
