In all these years that passed by, 2012 Mitsubishi Pajero continued to show immense growth all over the world. The car has been through a total of 4 generations of change and modifications. Now the company has come up with all new Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 SFX . Many new interior and exterior designs have been adopted. And these features are accompanied with much new safety as well comfort features. The all new and improved 2.8L diesel engine is installed that packs in a lot of power and performance. To improve the fuel efficiency some new tweaks and injection pump technology has been used. This is a four wheel drive vehicle which has 5 speed manual transmissions. The suspension system combines with good braking system, ultimately to give better handling and control over the SUV. The 15inch radius tyres make a suitable size for this sports vehicle. The cockpit has seen a lot of leather works and other small detailing to enhance the internal beauty of car.
Exteriors
The Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 SFX has the looks to die for. The car looks aggressive with its mean and sporty looks. The car comes in a total of 7 shades; each and every color is very unique and beautiful in its own way. Flame, Carbon, Navy, Granite, Deep Purple, Graphite and Limestone are the different colors. The radiator grill, windshield moulding, door handles and door mirrors all are chrome finished. The side and rear drip mouldings and lamp mouldings have some hints of chrome finish. The inter cooler vent, six spoke alloy wheel, headlamp cluster all strike handsomely. The car’s outer dimensions are as follows, the overall length, width and height of the Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 SFX is 4755mm X 1775mm X 1900mm respectively . The kerb weight is about 2155kgs. Some other exterior features include rear fog lamps and defogger, muscular wheel arches, variable intermittent wiper, front and rear hook and lockable spare tyre cover.
Interiors
As the exteriors, the interiors are equally beautiful; the seats are made up of leather and feel very comfortable to sit on. The soft brown interiors tend to keep refresh and adds to the beauty. Plus the wood print panels go perfectly with the cockpit of the car. Necessary small storage spaces have been provided here and there such as door pockets, cup holders, and lockable glove box. A MP3 player which comes with USB has been installed along with tuner too . Other interior features include illuminated door handles, electrically adjustable outside door mirrors, defoggers, accessory socket, D/N rearview mirror, etc. The front seats are fully sliding and reclining adjustable and have fully flat function. Engine and Performance
Under the hood, the Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 SFX has a 2.8L intercooler diesel engine that has an engine displacement of about 2835cc . This is an 8 valve single overhead camshaft type mechanism engine . Another thing is that it is turbocharged so it certainly puts in a lot of power in engine and pushes forward. The maximum power output of the engine is 106.7bhp at the rate of 4000 rotations per minute and the maximum torque that can be produced is 292Nm at the rate of 2000rpm. This is a super select 4 wheel drive and has an injection pump as fuel supply system to give better fuel efficiency. It has a 5 speed manual transmission and in terms of acceleration this beauty can achieve a top speed of about 150kmph . The pickup speeds too are also pretty impressive.
Braking and Handling
The brakes, suspension and the steering all these perform well to give the very best handling and braking to the car. The front and rear brakes being 15” ventilated disc and 15” drum in disc type goes well for the braking system of the car. The suspension system is strongly built too. It has a double wishbone torsion are with stabilizer bar as front suspension and 3 link coil rigid axle with stabilizer bar as rear suspension. The steering is power assisted and is hydraulic variable too. And added to that are the alloy wheels of 15 X 7.00 JJ type which supports 265 / 70 R15 tubeless tyres .
Safety features
Safety is always first in the all new Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 SFX. It is just like an armored tank from the outside. The outer rigid shell provides good resistance and strength to the car. The front dual airbags are there for extra safety during any collision. Plus the 3 point ELR (Emergency Locking Retractors) work well with the airbags to provide good level of crash safety. And the side impact bars can absorb impact force thereby protecting the passengers. It also comes with anti-lock braking system that is commonly found in most of the cars today which reduce braking time at a good pace. Some other safety features include high mounted stop lamp, child protection rear door locks, collapsible steering column and impact bars.
Comfort features
The Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 SFX comes with numerous comfort features such as rear heater control, auto power antenna, anti theft alarm, transfer cover etc. The parking sensor has been provided for extra ease in parking the SUV and it also got the rear view camera too. Displacement The displacement of an engine is the total volume of all of the cylinders in the engine. Measured in cubic centimetres (cc) | 2835 cc |
Max Power Power dictates the performance of an engine. It's measured in horsepower (bhp) or metric horsepower (PS). More is better. | 107.2bhp@4000rpm |
Max Torque The load-carrying ability of an engine, measured in Newton-metres (Nm) or pound-foot (lb-ft). More is better. | 275Nm@2000rpm |
No. of Cylinders ICE engines have one or more cylinders. More cylinders typically mean more smoothness and more power, but it also means more moving parts and less fuel efficiency. | 4 |
Valves Per Cylinder The number of intake and exhaust valves in each engine cylinder. More valves per cylinder means better engine breathing and better performance but it also adds to cost. | 2 |
Valve Configuration Valve configuration refers to the number and arrangement of intake and exhaust valves in each engine cylinder. | SOHC |
Fuel Supply System Responsible for delivering fuel from the fuel tank into your internal combustion engine (ICE). More sophisticated systems give you better mileage. | Direct Injection |
Bore X Stroke Bore is the diameter of the cylinder, and stroke is the distance that the piston travels from the top of the cylinder to the bottom. Multiplying these two figures gives you the cubic capacity (cc) of an engine. | 95.0 x 100.0 mm |
Turbo Charger A device that forces more air into an internal combustion engine. More air can burn more fuel and make more power. Turbochargers utilise exhaust gas energy to make more power. | Yes |
Super Charge A device that forces more air into an internal combustion engine. More air can burn more fuel and make more power. Superchargers utilise engine power to make more power. | No |
Transmission Type | Manual |
Gear Box The component containing a set of gears that supply power from the engine to the wheels. It affects speed and fuel efficiency. | 5 Speed |
Drive Type Specifies which wheels are driven by the engine's power, such as front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, or all-wheel drive. It affects how the car handles and also its capabilities. | 4WD |
