Volkswagen XL1 Test Drive

Volkswagen recently debuted the world's most fuel efficient concept car-XL1. Touted with a compact 800cc, TDI diesel engine that churns out 74bhp, the mill is mated with a 7-speed direct transmission that transits torque to the rear wheels. The smart engine is an incorporation of a diesel mill with an electric motor, that provides a fuel economy of 100 kmpl. The revolutionary design which has been developed with systematic light weight construction and amazing aerodynamics, the new XL1 can accelerate to a top speed of 158 kmph.

According to him the most amazing thing about the car is its mechanics, especially the carbon fibre which is the basic material of its body. The seats are very comfortable and the cabin is loaded with an array of smart feature to be explored. The new LCD screen beside the driver seat replaces the rear view camera and is amazingly convenient for the driver.

On road the car appears like an UFO on the road, that has a distinct on-road presence and unique design. The thin radiator grille extends till the front end and is complemented with stylish LED infused headlamps. The roof line is given ample height so as to provide handsome headroom space to the driver and the passenger. The roof line slopes down abruptly towards the rear end which is a quite a dramatic flair. The rear view is almost like that of a cylindrical rocket that is ready to liberate immense amounts of energy, when ignited. Moreover, international auto generalists took their shots to review this concept car in various condition. They stated it to be an amazing experience with an outstanding driving experience and astonishing fuel economy.
