New Toyota Camry Road Test

Toyota Camry, the car was introduced in the year 1982; however it saw the India car bazaar decades later in the year 2002. After Toyota Corolla, Camry is the model that drives Toyota’s sales around the world especially in North America where it is the best selling passenger vehicle. Toyota Camry has seen six generations and in August 2012, the car will enter into its seventh avatar. So far Toyota has sold around 14million Camry’s across nations. Camry, the word is akin to extra knowledge whereas the word in Japan means ‘crown’; interestingly Toyota has another model with the name ‘Crown’ in its line-up. Codenamed as XV50, there are two versions of Camry available in the market-an American version and an Asian version. The one that Toyota is going to unveil in the Indian market is the Asian market which has been tweaked from the front and the rear end. Moreover, Toyota Camry this time will come through the CKD route and will be assembled at Toyota India’s Bangalore manufacturing unit.  The new Camry do not is upgraded and refreshed and won’t let you compare itself from its predecessor. It’s gone sharper , edgier with the big chrome radiator grille with V design. Under the hood the car will hold a 2.5litre 2AR-FE 4 cylinder Petrol engine churns out 179bhp power along with 233Nm torque. New Camry gives an excellent opportunity to its parent company to stronghold its position in the Indian market against Volkswagen, Honda, Hyundai and likes.
