September 20, 2014 : Honda Mobilio has attracted more than 20,000 bookings in a span of two months of its launch. The Japanese manufacturer already retailed more than 8890 units in July and August. While recenlty, Honda Mobilio adds two new trims to the existing variants of the MPV, a new top-of-the-line trim for both petrol and diesel – V(O) at a price of 9.46 lakh (petrol) and 10.45 lakh (diesel) and the diesel-only – RS(O) costs 11.55 lakh (All prices ex-showroom New Delhi). Adding to this, now Mobilio has a total of 10 variants, namely, E,S,V and new-top-end V(O) (both for diesel and petrol) while diesel apart from this adds another two RS and RS(O). These variants adds a larges 15.7cm touch screen infotainment system with built-in voice guided navigation and it also doubles up as reverse parking camera screen. Apart from this the new trims gets faux wood inserts on the dashboard and front door armrests.
July 15, 2014 : Maruti Suzuki India launched the limited edition version of its seven seater MPV Ertiga at INR 6.76 lakh for Petrol model while the CNG and Diesel models are priced at INR 7.34 lakh and 8.05 lakh respectively. The Limited Edition features trendy Limited Edition body decals and graphics, Rear spoiler, New paint shade of Pearl Blaze blue. The interior showcases the wooden trim on instrument panel, reverse parking sensor with digital display. The engine specification of this Limited Edition is carried from the outgoing models.
October 17, 2014: The next-gen 2014 Toyota Innova has been spotted recently near their manufacturing facility in Bangalore. The next-gen MPV is expected to hit India by early 2016. Recently, Toyota had introduced Innova's limited edition at a price bracket of Rs 12,90,947 to Rs. 13,00,710 (Ex showroom New Delhi). Only 1500 units will ever be made available for a limited period between September to November 2014. This limited edition model gets a new color shade as Bronze Mica Metallic and is based on the existing GX Grade. The MPV embraces ‘Limited Edition' badge on rear end, headlamps and taillamp cluster with chrome attachments. While the interior boasts touchscreen display audio system with Bluetooth, USB, Aux-in, DVD, CD connectivity along with dual color fabric upholstery. Mechanically, it remain unaltered.
September 23, 2014: Mahindra has upgraded its MUV- Xylo; to accelerate its sales figures the price range remained fairly unchanged, starting from Rs. 7.52 lakh to Rs. 10.93 lakh (all ex-showroom New Delhi). The machine has gone through a complete alteration, i.e., from mechanical to cosmetic. There are five trims available i.e. D2, D4, H4, H8 and H9. The dashboard now gets black and beige treatment with new faux Grey wood inserts. The MUV offers 7, 8 and 9 seating options along with a new 60:40 third row split function. The ride quality has been bettered with revived suspension setup. The manufacturer continues to power this machine with a 2.2 liter mHawk turbo diesel engine, which generates 118bhp and 280Nm of max torque. Base variants houses a 2.5 liter mDI CRDe engine that churn out maximum power of 93.5bhp and peak torque of 218Nm.
May, 5th 2014: Chevrolet launches the first Anniversary Edition of its MPV Enjoy. The limited edition features chrome surrounding on headlight, taillights and license plate appliqué. The MPV also gets roof-rails, side blinkers on the outside-rear-view- mirror, body decals on side profile while inside the cabin, the vehicle gets faux wooden trim. Under the hood, the Enjoy remains same as it will keep on housing its tried and tested, 1.3-litre TCDi turbo diesel motor that develops a power of 76.4bhp and the peak torque of 188Nm. While the 1.4 liter SMARTECH petrol engine musters a power of 102.6bhp and peak torque of 131Nm. 21st-Mar-2012: Chevrolet India has launched the BSIV version of its flagship MUV Tavera in the price range of Rs. 7.51 lakh to Rs. 10.34 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) . The MUV was carrying passengers only in BS3 compliant cities until now. Apart from the new engine, the Tavera also gets a minor facelift with the front end being the main area getting a new design. The interiors too are spruced up with a dual cockpit design, new instrumentation and beige colored upholstery to make the Tavera feel more upmarket. The common rail turbo diesel engine (CRDe) which the new Tavera houses is rendered by ICML Sonalika and this 2.0 litre diesel engine is powerful enough to generate near about 105 Bhp of peak power and 262 Nm of peak torque. The Tavera Neo 3 is also available in a BS3 variant also with the 2.5 Liter 78 Bhp-186 Nm turbo diesel engine, and is priced at Rs 6.72 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
April 10, 2014: Tata Motors has silently launched the much awaited facelift version of SUV Aria at Rs 9.95 lakh. The SUV is made available in three trim levels Pure 4X2, Pleasure 4X2 and Pride 4X4. The facelifted version features JBL Harman infotainment system, projector headlmaps, Dual AC with climate control to mention few. In terms of safety the car now includes ABS, EBD, six airbags, traction control and reverse camera. The SUV in-houses all new VARICOR 2.2 litre engine with new turbo charger that belts a maximum power of 148bhp and peak torque of 320Nm. The SUV delivers fuel economy of 15.05kmpl (ARAI certified).
October 27, 2014: Nissan India has launched the Special Variant of Evalia at Rs INR 11.61 Lac (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The MPV is now loaded with additional features and is positioned above the top of the line XV(O) variant. Nissan Evalia SV model gets all-new chrome front grille, 10-spoke alloy wheels, newly designed front bumper and integrated fog lamps. Inside the cabin, the MPV gets roof mounted AC vents in both second and third row, rear wiper, rear defogger, in-dash 2-din audio system with USB connectivity, captain seats, sliding windows and wood finish on dashboard. The engine specification remains the same.
Tata Venture has now been launched in Maharashtra today making this state the second market for this MPV after the tourist city, Rajasthan. The MPV has been priced at 4.07 lakh (ex showroom, Thane) . It is powered by a 1.4 L TDI diesel engine offering a maximum output of 69 bhp at 4500 rpm and a top torque of 13.7 kgm at 2500 rpm. The mileage offered is 15.42 kmpl.
May 6, 2014 : Tata has launched an all-new multi-utility-vehicle Tata Movus. The entry level variant of Movus costs Rs 6.99 lakh ex-showroom capital region . The vehicle is powered by the 2.2 liter VARICOR engine that churns out 118.4bhp and 250Nm of maximum torque. The vehicle returns class leading fuel efficiency figures of 15.16kmpl certified by ARAI. The Movus features a new clutch system - 260 diameter Concentric Sleeve cylinder – Self actuating Clutch, which reduces the stress on the driver and make driving hassle free. The MUV offers 7-8 and 9 seating options with front-side and captain seating arrangement. The Movus comes in two color options Porcelain White and Meteor Silver and comes in two variant CX and LX.
June 24, 2014: Mercedes-Benz has launched a special edition of B-Class as Edition 1 with a price tag of Rs 28.75 lakh. The Edition 1 is only available in the diesel variant. The exterior gets Edition 1 stickers on the rocker along with a new set of alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, a sunroof is provided in addition to electrically adjustable front row seats. This limited edition also features rear seat entertainment. To improve the fuel efficiency, the power development has been tuned down to 108bhp. The car carries a 2.2-litre diesel engine coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch self-shifting transmission.
September 27, 2013 : Tata Motors has launched the new generation Xenon XT in South Africa. The vehicle has 4 different variants - Single Cab (4x4), Single Cab (4x4), Double Cab (4x2) and Double Cab (4x4). It comes equipped with various features such as navigation, Bluetooth, dual airbags, ABS, differential lock, and limited slip differential. The Tata Xenon XT is powered by a new generation 2.2-litre VTT DiCOR engine that develops 147bhp and 320Nm of top torque. It also features various comfort and entertainment options such as radio, MP3, bucket seats with armrests, tiltable steering column and others.
October 7, 2013: Ashok Leyland has today rolled out the much awaited Stile MPV in India at a starting price of Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which marks the entry of Ashok Leyland into the passenger vehicle segment. Launched in both 7 and 8 seater configuration, Ashok Leyland Stile MPV has been launched in three variants- LE, LS and LX. The MPV will be available in 5 colours- white, silver, grey, red and black. The Stile powers the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder k9k diesel mill, which also does its duty to the Nissan Evalia, however, the engine has been tuned to return better fuel economy. It returns an impressive 19.5kmpl of mileage as against Evalia's 19.3kmpl.
